Perfect for a Saturday morning brunch with friends but make sure to book in advance!!
Luckily a friend was very organised and reserved us a table a week in advance as I saw queues of customers waiting for tables when we arrived and departed - but I guess that's a very good sign.
Miel et Moi are well known now in Belfast for their desserts and early morning cocktails but we made the trip to the swanky end of Lisburn Rd for their brunch menu instead.
Between 3 of us we sampled their French toast with bacon, scrambled eggs on toast, one dessert and soft drinks but everything on the menu looked very appetising.
The food arrived quickly, tasted amazing and I was SO tempted to have some more treats that were on show but restrained myself.
The staff were perhaps a little over attentive at times with no less than 6 members of staff checking on us within the first 15 mins but sure it's better to be looked after than not, eh?
The one dessert we had was a mini peanut butter gateaux and although delicious, it as over chilled meaning the sponge had become quite hard - at 11am I wouldn't have expected that so sorry, Miel et Moi, you lost 1 star for this.
I look forward to my next trip back though. I can see me sitting in their heated outdoor area one evening, cocktail and cake in hand. -

DATE OF VISIT: Sunday 8 May 2016 at lunch time with Caroline S.
MENU: Small but good with a focus on light breakfasts, lunches and patisserie items. However they really need more Vegetarian and Vegan options and for these to be highlighted on the menu. Nonetheless being Northern Ireland's first licensed patisserie Miel et Moi definitely offer something different from the norm plus a great range of sweet treats and cocktails.
FOOD: Absolutely scrumptious and flavoursome. However portion sizes are very small and it's therefore expensive. Our lunches of tomato, red onion and basil salad (£6.75) and goats cheese with carrot jam, herbs and toast (£6.50) were tasty but small for the price we paid, being more starter size than a proper lunch. We noticed a lot of diners around us opting for sandwiches (£4.95) which looked more substantial and economical. Others had quiche which appeared to be a very small slice for £8.50. We shared a mango and raspberry cheesecake which was decadent and probably similarly priced at £4.25 to desserts found in any restaurant.
DRINK: Very good with coffees, wine, cocktails, gin and tonics all exceptionally good.
COST: Expensive, our bill was £82.42 for 2 people. Coffee and patisserie items are a standard price but lunch dishes and cocktails are overpriced especially given the small portions e.g. a Kir Royal cocktail rings in at £9.95. We actually had very little food but ran up quite a large bill on just a few drinks.
SERVICE: Excellent and attentive with all waiting staff extremely helpful and pleasant. We didn't feel rushed out of our table either and ended up sitting on for over three hours.
RESTAURANT DECOR/ AMBIENCE: Wonderful especially on a sunny day as the outside seated area is a sun trap during early afternoon. Decor is French influenced with soft muted colours and there is a lovely relaxed yet luxurious vibe to Miel et Moi.
IN SUMMARY: Miel et Moi serve delicious food but need more clearly marked Veggy meals on their menu. I found the service, food, atmosphere, drinks and ambience lovely but prices are high so it would definitely be more of a treat spot rather than somewhere I would visit frequently. -

Lovely decor.
Not many seats. And a lot of them are high. Can be hard to get a seat.
Food is overrated. Looks good. But isn't anything to rave about. Quite bland.
Especially the fancy looking desserts. -

Mel et Moi is a good wee spot for lunch and a cocktails.
The lunch menu is small but quite varied and the food is delicious.
I sat on and had a few cocktails and was impressed with how these came out. Might have ended up having more than I should have but aww well it was Tuesday.
I would recommend going here for visit! -

Lovely little place for a cake and a cocktail!
Everything is delicious but the service was a little slow and inconsistent when I visited for a girlie afternoon. Took over half an hour for anyone to take our order and then another half an hour to get the order, and unfortunately some of it was wrong.
Another issue I had was the lack of menu for the patisseries, you have to just go by the look of the cakes when choosing, would be nice to have a description to help you choose!
Having said all that I enjoyed everything that I had and will definitely give it another go.
